PASS Storage Space Increased to 5GB

Thanks to Kurt Baker, of Information Technology Services, for this Tip

PASS (Penn State Access Account Storage Space) disk/file storage space is available to the Penn State community. All students, faculty, and staff members with an Access Account receive an initial allotment of 500 MB of online storage space. Users have been able to to increase their storage allocations to 1GB via the ITS Secure Server. Effective October 1st, users will be able to increase their PASS space quota to 5GB.

There are a number of services at the University that rely on PASS as a key component for storage and delivery. For instance, PASS is used for these services, and more:
  • Penn State Personal Web space
  • Personal blog via blogs@Penn State
  • Departmental and Course Web space
  • ePortfolio
  • Remote login to ITS UNIX clusters
  • File Sharing
  • ITS Secure Server (www.work.psu.edu)
  • Penn State Portal
  • downloads.its.psu.edu
