What's Cooliris Previews ?

This is an excellent Tip that you can use on your Home computer. However, It's not yet supported on our Libraries' work computers (staff image), so you shouldn't install it there. But if you install it at home, and like it, let us know! We'll see about adding it to a future staff image.

With the Cool iris Previews browser extension, you can simply rest your mouse over a web link and view the link's underlying content ... no clicking is required, the content is immediately visible, and you do not have to leave your current web page! This helps reduce Back button clicks and dead links, and lets you browse the web more quickly. Free downloadable Cooliris extensions are available for: Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari.

With Cooliris you can....
preview links with a mouse-over
right-click to email a link instantly
right-click to instantly search a word or phrase in Wikipedia, Google Search, Google Images, or a dictionary
open YouTube videos, del.icio.us bookmarks, Flikr photos
customize retrieval to selected links, or disable links
customize retrieval to selected entire sites, or disable sites
use the Tutorials to get you up and running
Here's what we think about Cooliris: Wow!!
