Qualcomm, the parent company that sells Eudora software, announced it would no longer sell or provide technical support for the Eudora email client after October 31, 2007.
What do you need to do?
For the near future, absolutely nothing: keep using Eudora!
If you are itching to try another E-mail client, but are NOT certain that you can support it on your own, please do not abandon Eudora at this time.
What is Penn State going to do?
The Eudora Conversion Committee that included Libraries and DLT representation, reviewed alternatives to Eudora. You can view their findings here:

What will the libraries do?
In December, I-Tech will evaluate the various email software, support and training options. Early next year, a replacement for Eudora will be chosen and the Image Committee will replace Eudora with its successor (most likely a version of Thunderbird). We'll also provide training and support when your machine is touched as part of next summer's annual lifecycle/software upgrade process.
