Safeguard your Digital Identity and your Computer

Are you ready to protect your digital identity and your computer? Computer security danger such as phishing schemes, spyware downloads, and Internet fraud is everywhere, and can cause headaches that just won’t go away. The University recently launched its fourth annual Take Control security awareness campaign and contest - an effort to increase awareness of computer security dangers and learn about secure digital identity practices.

All Penn State students, faculty, and staff may participate in the contest, and two lucky winners will receive an HP Tablet Notebook PC (laptop) or an iPod Touch. But everyone who visits the Take Control website http://its.psu.edu/takecontrol/ is a winner … there you’ll find a wealth of secure computing information aimed to keep you in control. The information is presented using a fun social-networking style, with characters such as Vic the Virus and Phil the Phisher, who is shown here. You may recognize some characters, as they’ve already made appearances on Libraries bulletin boards.
