The MicroMemo has the ability to record CD-quality audio with its included microphone. You can record audio up to 44Khz—good enough to broadcast on any radio station or online podcast. According to the user manual, “MicroMemo is perfect for recording lectures, meetings, and interviews.” Following recording, your files can be transferred to your computer by syncing with iTunes.
It’s easy to borrow a Nano. Just call I-Tech (814-865-2378) to request one, or stop by 102 Paterno. After presenting your valid PSU ID, and filling out the Request for Authorization to Use University Tangible Assets at a Non-University Location form, you’ll be able to borrow a Nano for up to one week, with longer loan periods for special circumstances such as conferences. Upon return, the Nano will be reformatted (all files deleted) and made fresh for the next user.
The Nano and its accompanying accessories (recorder, ear buds, USB cable, and wall charger) travel safely in its small carrying case. So for next meeting, or even to get past the concern that, like this writer, you might be the last person on the planet who has not yet used an iPod, give the Nano a try!
