Page Borders: Print the Bottom Border too!

Have you ever tried to print a page border in an MS Word document, only to find out the bottom border is missing? Here’s a way to solve that problem:

  • In the Page Layout tab, choose Page Borders, which opens the Borders and Shading Dialogue window. Then, click the Options button (lower right).
  • The Border and Shading Options sub-window opens, and includes a field called “Measure from:” occurs there. Select Text from its drop-down menu.
  • Note that the margin numbers in the fields above change. These numbers represent the amount of space from the text area of the page to the page border. You can experiment with those settings to see what you like best.
  • To return from the open windows to your document, click OK, and then OK again.
Once you're back in your document, you can see the borders you've set and you should find that with the page border pulled in closer to the text, your printing dilemma is resolved.
